Softrams Latest Contract Win
Softrams is thrilled to be awarded a new contract by the Department of Labor (DOL) for supporting their EFAST program’s modernization. We will be providing our expertise and analysis to recommend the most efficient and effective Information Technology (IT) solutions to include modernizations across the system, integrations with DOL Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and other solutions, as well as tool changes. We will also provide expert oversight and analysis of performance and deliverables to include but not limited to reviews of detailed system design, system sizing, performance measurements, and source code. Additionally, we will perform and report on system and application testing that includes conformance to supplied specifications and requirements, troubleshooting, along with conformance to Section 508.
The EFAST system has gone through several modifications since the inception of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 which required employers to submit Form 5500 describing their pension and welfare benefit plans annually. The early 2000’s saw the automation of the Form 5500 through the EFAST system, and it has continued to iterate with evolving technology.
Form 5500 filings are the principal source of information concerning over 800,000 plans that cover over 140 million private sector workers, retirees, and dependents and hold over $11 trillion in assets. This information is essential to federal agencies, branches, and the private sector in assessing employee benefit, pension, and economic issues.
