Softrams supporting critical DHS USCIS Mission
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Office of Information Technology (OIT) has awarded Softrams an Outcome-Based Delivery and DevSecOps Services (ODOS) III task order. Our team will support USCIS’s Transformation Business Portfolios and Adjudicative Directorates to administer the architecture, design, development, and delivery of the Electronic Immigration System (ELIS) which processes millions of immigrations requests each year and impacts countless others.
USCIS current electronic process has evolved from a paper-based process that would verify identities of applicants, adjudicate benefit requests, and cross-share information with other federal agencies to a web-based case managed system to achieve a paperless government. The current ELIS accounts for 75% of the agency’s workload which is why the next phase of digital transformation plans to further advance ELIS to drive innovation and business process re-engineering.
ODOS III aims to provide incremental enhancements to ELIS while increasing sustainability and performance of system, improve code quality, eliminate any system defects, and refactor legacy functionality into smaller chunks of code using microservices on OpenShift and EKS platforms. With Softrams approach of utilizing CI/CD for continuous delivery, automated testing, secure containerized development, microservices based architecture to deliver its capabilities in AWS cloud, the result will be high quality software with enhanced security, flexibility, along with the added benefit of scaling due to growing demand for ELIS.
Softrams is thrilled to support this critical mission to bring positive change to millions.
